Banking
The
Florida State University’s innovative FSUCard Program, SunTrust
Bank, and FSU Student Government have teamed up to provide the
University community with a wide variety of FREE banking
services. Your FSUCard offers access to a variety of services
at ATMs and merchants. You may transfer financial aid, pay tuition
and other University related fees, pay for goods and services
at merchants both on and off campus, and even write unlimited
number of checks. All of these features are made possible with
your FSUCard. If you take advantage of any of these functions,
you will receive an itemized monthly statement of transactions
providing a detailed record of deposits, withdrawals, and purchases.
Students,
faculty and staff are eligible for a FEE-FREE checking account
linked with their FSUCard. There is no minimum opening deposit
required, no monthly maintenance fee, no fee for transactions
at SunTrust ATMs, no teller fees, unlimited checking writing plus
your first order of fifty checks is FREE! It is easy to use your
FSUCard as a debit card, just visit the SunTrust FSU Campus Branch
or the Downtown Branch on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee,
or the 23rd Street Office in Panama City, to choose your four-digit
ATM PIN. You may then visit any SunTrust Office in Tallahassee
or Panama City to open your account and to make a deposit of any
amount. Refer to the SunTrust Personal Account Fee Schedule for
information about any fees that may be associated with some of
the services offered by SunTrust and your FSUCard Account.
Withdraw from ATMs
Without entering a bank you can make a deposit, withdraw money, or obtain
account information from Automated Teller Machines. Simply swipe your FSUCard
and enter your ATM PIN at any SunTrust ATM, or any non-SunTrust ATM (referred
to as a "foreign" ATM) wherever a InterLink or PLUS Logo is displayed.
There are approximately 1,900 SunTrust ATMs throughout the Southeastern
United States and approximately 300,000 foreign ATMs worldwide where your
card is accepted. There is no fee for transactions and withdrawals
at SunTrust ATMs. If you use a ‘foreign’ ATM (not a
SunTrust ATM) there is a $2 service fee. See ATM Safety Tips.
Make Purchases at Merchants
Use your FSUCard to purchase a variety of goods and services at both on-
and off-campus locations. Buy books, meals, supplies, merchandise, personal
computers, pay tuition and/or University related fees, pay housing…almost
anything. Your FSUCard is accepted at no charge at over
330,000 merchant locations nationwide, wherever you see the familiar FSUCard,
Plus InterLink logos. Simply swipe your card at these point-of sale
terminals and enter your ATM PIN. For a list of merchant locations in town,
click here, or, get a copy of an updated Merchants List, available at the
beginning of each semester. You'll find that no other university card is
accepted at more places!
Transfer Financial Aid
Make receiving financial aid easy by having your scholarships, grants, and
student loans, electronically transferred to your FSUCard Account. Just
check "yes" for EFT on the Disbursement Authorization
Statement, which is available on line at HERE .
See the Financial Aid Delivery page for more detailed information. This
form has to be filled out only once during your entire enrollment at FSU,
unless you choose to change your disbursement options. You can find out
if your financial aid has been delivered to your FSUCard Account by calling
1-800-SunTrust (1-800-786-8787). To view your account information on-line,
at no additional charge, log on to www.SunTrust.com to
complete the Internet Banking application, or call 1-800-382-3232.
Automatic Payment of Tuition
You can choose to pay your tuition electronically with your FSUCard during
course registration. See the Tuition & University
Fees Payment page for more information concerning this service.
This option must be selected each semester during registration, either by
phone or on the web. The funds must be available in your FSUCard account
by the third day of the semester so that tuition can be deducted. If your
account is less than six months old and you are making a deposit for tuition
payment via a check, please ensure that your deposit is made ten working
days before the fifth day of class. Deposits to cover the automatic payment
of tuition may be made in any SunTrust Bank.
Payroll Deduction
Part- or full-time University employees can authorize a specific amount
to be direct deposited from their paycheck into their FSUCard account. A
convenient way to buy lunch on or off campus, make purchases at campus and
local merchants, buy groceries, and much more! Your deduction will appear
in View Paycheck page in OMNI, and will be available to you on your payday.
It’s simple to do; just add a new Direct Deposit from
your paycheck to go into your SunTrust account. Log into OMNI and go to
Employee Self Service. Next, click on Payroll and Compensation then Direct
Deposit. To complete the Direct Deposit enter your SunTrust account, routing
numbers and the amount. Please allow two weeks for the changes to take effect.
Write Checks
Pay your bills, give a gift, make purchases and more. Now you have the flexibility
to write an unlimited number of checks each month for amounts not exceeding
your available balance. Your first order of fifty checks is free.
Just one more easy way to access your money!

Parents or students can make deposits at any SunTrust branch
by mail, in person, or through a wire transfer from another bank. Use the
